Let’s face it. Most local campaign volunteers are women, often with careers in health, education, and human services profession. They organize local campaign events, volunteer at phone banks, canvass and register voters, and lead get-out-the-vote efforts.
In addition, many are the “go to” people for advice and help when a colleague, friend, or other family member (even one who has veered politically) have a child, parent, or relationship problem or need. On both a professional and personal level, they know who to contact and what to seek out.
These are enough to make them day-to-day SHEROES in community life – but put the two together and they can be ELECTORAL SUPERPOWERS.
First, they are respected messengers when it comes to what society and elected officials can do to support children and families. Second, they have the ears of many persuadable voters on issues that are of most concern to those voters. Third, they know how best to convey those messages in ways that will engage those voters and influence their votes.
This webpage is directed specifically to these SHEROES and how they can activate their SUPERPOWERS in the final moments of the campaign to elect a President and Congress our children and grandchildren need. And do so in as little as one hour of spare time and in the comfort of one’s home.
Sheroes have people who listen to them and can be reached -- by email, facebook, twitter, or other social media or in meetings and in person. Identifying and then sending them a simple pitch that Harris has an agenda that supports them, their work, and their values and providing a link to this website can get the word out. The "influncer resource page" has more information on things to do. But even an hour or less of your time in doing getting out the word to some of the people you can influence is PRICELESS.
You also have friends who might like spending 60 minutes of their time relieving their election anxiety and it usually is more energizing to be part of a team. You can start a [community county, state, etc.] Sheroes for Children of your own and brainstorm with others to do what you think might have the best impact. If you don't like the name, pick another and welcome men (I'm a member of Moms Rising Together). This isn't only about the election on November 5th. It's about celebrating it and making sure those we elect know we support them in following through. Again, the "influencer resource page" provides tips and tools. Also feel free to play the grandparent card (in a language of your choosing) or use the AI generated cat picture in the slide (if you pride yourself on that front)..
